Lime Plaster Finishes
Lime plaster has been used for centuries and adds character and depth to interior walls. Depending on the method and type of finish used, a variety of textures and finishes can be achieved. These range from the look of polished marble, like Venetian plaster, to the natural, clean and earthen look of diamond finish.
Below are a few of the lime-based finishes we offer at Tesuque Stucco Company.
Acrylic Plaster Finishes
Acrylic plaster finishes offer a wide range of styles and textures, and in most cases, they can be applied directly over finished drywall. Popular styles like diamond finish plaster or Venetian plaster can be achieved with the use of an acrylic finish. They can also be made to replicate the look of stone or stucco and significantly enhance the appearance of any interior wall.
Below are a few of the acrylic plaster finishes offered by the Tesuque Stucco Company.

Interior Plaster Wall Preparation
The required preparation for an acrylic plaster depends on the current wall type, which may be drywall or existing plaster. Many of these acrylic finishes can be applied over finished drywall or drywall that has been taped and mudded over the joints. In our experience, 90 percent of these installs occur over finished drywall in New Mexico homes.
Applying an acrylic plaster over an existing plaster can be done as long as the right primer is used. In some situations, a “scuff sand” of the surface before the application of the primer and finish is required to aid in the adhesion of the finish. Sometimes the inclusion of an acrylic bonding agent may be used if the plaster has been painted.
The masking of windows and doors and moving of most furniture is also part of the preparation work involved if you were to plaster your home.
